MONSOONS 
When Does Monsoon Season Start and End?
For decades, meteorologists and weather enthusiasts argued about when the Arizona monsoon officially began. Old-timers used the “dew point rule” — three consecutive days with a dew point of 55°F or higher signaled the start of the season. But that method created wildly inconsistent start dates year to year and made comparative data unreliable.

In 2008, the National Weather Service settled the debate: Arizona’s monsoon season now runs officially from June 15 to September 30
