Daily Courier Columnist on page 4A in the Feb 22 Sunday edition.
Opinion
Science and Sense: Common sense, and another 'approach'
By KELLY KADING, Courier Columnist;
".....As for the Dells, why not include 16 panels, engraved into the granite, along the route where the new rock faces will be cleaved….we could memorialize important figures from our history – Sharlot Hall, Bucky O’Neill, Doc Holliday and the Earps….of course, we would need to reserve a panel for our current City Council and mayor" and let me add our local columnist, Mr. Kading:

I suggest the proposed roundabouts in the Dells corridor widening will slow traffic. The Sedona 'residential street' roundabouts south of Sedona can slow busy traffic to a crawl. Roundabouts work well, but not everywhere. Hwy 89 widening will be needed, but I say delete the planned roundabouts in the corridor.

You've heard about it. Widen now with traffic circles and sewer pipe
replacement or leave for now and just replace sewer pipe.

Read the report here: https://prescottaz.portal.civicclerk.co ... hment/6965
Report BACKGROUND
City Contract No. 2025-066
The report includes the evaluation and ranking of up to 15 alignment alternatives, including
preliminary design concepts for the three (3) highest ranked alternatives.

- 3B. Widening to five lanes, two new roundabouts and additional right-outs;
- 5B. Widening to five lanes with four lanes and a median barrier through The Narrows, two new roundabouts and additional right-outs; and,
- 2B. Current roadway with no additional lanes, two new roundabouts and additional right-outs.

Prescott Mayor-elect Cathey Rusing said she supports option 2B with modifications. (Aug 27, 2025)
The consultant's recommended option is 3B.
